Take me out to the ball game

Joe's company had a family night at the baseball game on Monday.  It was a good time had by all.  Paxton seemed to love all things related to this event.  We started off with a nice big cookout then quickly made our way to the kid zone at the ball field.  All the kids got their free wristbands and so we wanted to check it out and see if there was anything Paxton sized.  They had a toddler sized bounce house and the parents were so great about making the bigger kids go in the bigger houses.  This made for a happy baby.  Poor kid couldn't get his footing but he enjoyed crawling around and being bounced by mommy and daddy just as much.

After the bouncing fun Paxton decided to walk on over to the playground where he went up the slides and down the slides.  I'm not too keen on teaching or allowing Paxton to climb up them because that isn't their purpose but when he is so cute it makes it really hard to not let him explore.  We'd scoop him up just the same and take him to the top where he'd screech with joy as he flew down.

Daddy then took him to the "how fast can you throw" area where daddy proceeded to show off his baseball skills.  Unfortunately the speed thing tops out at 49 (or at least that is the excuse Joe used ;-] ) but regardless, he said Paxton LOVED that part.

We then watched the pitchers warm up and Paxton's little head just went back and forth as the ball made its way from glove to glove.

It couldn't have been a better first game for the family.  We all had a good time and seeing a daddy enjoy something so fun with his son really made it all worth it.  Joe is now really looking forward to being able to take Paxton more next year and share special times with the kid.

On another front, we had P's 15 month check up.  He is doing well.  He weighs 22lbs 11 oz and is 31 inches tall.  He is saying mama, dada, ball, dog, thank you, banana, more, milk, all done and a few random animal sounds (she said sounds and signs count as words).  He walks, climbs, dances and is more often than not, happy with life.  I couldn't ask for a cooler kid.  Paxton snugly fits into this family like he was born to do so.  We've got a few different ways of doing things but I love how it just works for us and Paxton seems to agree that it's all falling into place.

I love love love my life, my family, my God, my friends...all of it.  I really do.

You better tell Paxton he's on time out for all that cuteness!
