What a wee little baby. What a sweet little boy.
This week has started off pretty darn wonderfully. We enjoyed a full weekend that was comprised of 3 BBQ's, 2 days of Army, 1 sold bed and a tired mommy who needed a nap! Paxton actually slept until 7 this morning, not "we got him out of bed at 7 even though he had been up since 615" but he SLEPT until 7. It kind of threw his naps off because well, that extra 45 minutes did him in! When he woke up from his semi-sleep-semi-cry-semi-fuss-nap we had to go bed shopping. Auntie Jessie went with because there was no way it was happening with just me. We sold our bed this past Sunday and we slept in the full sized bed last night. That simply could not happen. One night was one night too many. We did it before for over a year but I must have doubled in size because the bed has more than shrunk! Needless to say I found the PERFECT bed. Joe came home early so we could pick it up and get it set up to avoid the aforementioned issue we had.
After bed shopping we took some potato salad to Renee (sorry if I ruined your eating today, but that stuff is SO worth it!) and then headed to Kroger. Aunt Jessie was a GEM to have around because shopping with Paxton is a no-g0. He doesn't want to sit in the cart (even though it's a cool car-cart that allows him to drive) and he is cranky no matter what. It's the whole "dat, dat" with pointing. Cute, but ineffective for the task at hand. I love telling him everything we're buying and letting him have a go at holding each item but then slowly he attempt to throw each item over the cart. Sorry, won't cut it kiddo, you don't get discounts for damaged cans at Kroger, not when the damage is kid-inflicted.
We made it home, got the food put up, got kid down for a nap, started dinner, went to pick up bed, watched as head board flew out of truck on the way home (going 20 mph and less than 1/10 of a mile from home), carried headboard home (well, Joe did, lol) and finished dinner. Dinner was lovely. We fed B&J so we could solicit Brandon's help for carrying the bed in and putting it together! I made a Shepherd's Pie for the first time. It was actually really good! I didn't follow a recipe because that isn't much my style and everyone gobbled it down! Jessica didn't eat the peas but I forced her to at least get one fork full down :) Paxton loved it and ate his entire bowl full which NEVER happens. Need to add this one to the rotation!
Tomorrow we plan on going swimming, napping and eating at Uncle Brandon's and Aunt Jessie's for dinner! I really dislike summer but love the lazy days :)
Time to go fall into my brand new Marriot executive/presidential suite bed! Night all.
